Part time to Full time contract query

5 part timers were made up to full time in our unit about 5 months ago but their contracts stipulate temporary, they are concerned that they can be put back down to part time at any time and they want the temporary changed to permanent and the DOM simply says not to worry about it. Are they considered permanent full time after a certain period of time or can they be reduced back to part time at any time?

Temporary means temporary they will get a new contract through which states temporary and can be moved any time back down to their original permanent contract. Every 6 months these jobs should be reviewed and if there is work there then make them permanent and issue the correct permanent contract.
