Jan 3rd Bank Holiday - Mon to Thurs Night Shift?

Question:

My normal working shift is Monday to Thursday Nights.

My office is giving all staff the Friday night off for New Years Eve/Day, which I fully understand.

And then they expect everyone to return on Monday night, the 3rd at 10pm.

But where does that leave me?

I would of had the Friday night off anyway.

And would of very much liked to have had the Monday off as a traditional Bank Holiday.

Feels like I'm losing a day off.

Please help!

Winners and losers, just like all us who had Xmas day or new year's day as our rest day. Suppose it would have been fairer to have a clawback but the union got rid of that

Nice to have every Friday, Saturday Sunday night off.

Sounds about right as well you would have been in on Monday night and you work 4 nights so if you are full time I think those hours sound a out right

You will get a docket for all hours worked on Monday night at BH rate (Used to be double time and a half), or can choose BH premium for hours worked to midnight & day in lieu .
You are not losing out just some of your colleagues are gaining slightly.

Some MCs will do it with volunteers, if they get enough then everyone else will get the Monday off

Looks like I'll be dragging myself in tomorrow then, when everyone else is sat at home watching the football with a take away.

Hopefully I'll get a Lieu day credited into my balance.
