Monday 27 December - Christmas Day : Public Holiday
Tuesday 28 December - Boxing Day : Public Holiday
Wednesday 29 December -Normal service day
Thursday 30 December - Normal service day
Friday 31 December - Normal service day
Saturday 1 January - New Year's Day - Non-service (USO) Day
Sunday 2 January - Sunday
Monday 3 January - New Year's Day : Public Holiday
Tuesday 4 January - Normal service day : (Public Holiday in Scotland)

The normal rule of thumb is...

If a day is a bank holiday, then you get it off, and if it's your day off on that day you 'get it back'.

If a day is classed as a 'Non-service (USO) Day' then you get it off but if it's your day off on that day you WON'T get it back.

I started in November and it's my long weekend this weekend coming, unluckily its xmas so I understand that it's just fell on that weekend, but what should my day off be the following week, I've had mostly Wednesday or thursday off since I started but if now they've decided that xmas is my long weekend I would like to make sure my day off rotates properly. So the week after do I get a monday or a tuesday??? TIA

It will depend on whether you are needed much like any other day of the week.
If Royal Mail are not working bank holidays then you won't be.

Been that way for New Years (and for Boxing Day) for years. If they get enough volunteers or near enough volunteers (back filled with casuals/agency) then they run with that, otherwise it's everyone in

So this week my day off was Sunday and then put down as Saturday 25th. Working Monday to Friday.

So if Saturday is a USO, does that mean that’s just my day off and nothing extra, noticed rota for majority of office getting 2 days off this week and Xmas day as well, but I am one of the only ones with 1 day off and then Xmas day as my other day off. Just unsure how it all works since I came in around October.

It's confusing what you have posted, what days do you work etc.
It's quite clear in the 1st post of mine what is what if you are off on certain days.

If you work Monday night through Friday night you have been conned !!
As Christmas Day is NOT a non service day to you.
Yes you would have had Friday night off , but the hours have been clawed back , hence the reason you have to attend at midnight on the 28th.
If you don't believe me , and your early shift has Mondays off , compare the number of attendances you are making with theirs , both WC 20th and WC 27th.

WC 20th Night Shift 4 attendances Early Shift 4 attendances
WC 27th Night Shift 3 attendances Early Shift 2 attendances

I have next week booked off (beginning 3rd Jan). At the time of booking, I was Monday to Friday on collection. I am now Mon to Sat with a rolling day off.

My rolling day off next week is the Monday which is a bank holiday. As it stands, I only have 4 days booked now (Tuesday to Friday), should I get the Monday back or will they expect me to work Saturday even though I booked a whole week off?

Question:

My normal working shift is Monday to Thursday Nights.

My office is giving all staff the Friday night off for New Years Eve/Day, which I fully understand.

And then they expect everyone to return on Monday night, the 3rd at 10pm.

But where does that leave me?

I would of had the Friday night off anyway.

And would of very much liked to have had the Monday off as a traditional Bank Holiday.

Please help!
