Dental cover

Post by mr hil. »

I have signed up for the Dental cover (last month) and the money is coming out of my wages each week. I have not received any information as to how to make a claim. The advice is to log into the Unum website but I have not received any policy details or policy numbers to be able to register on the Unum website

Has anybody else who has this insurance any advice for me

Been using this dental insurance for a long time ,the letter can take over a month too turn up even during the non Xmas pressure .You have 90 days to put your claim in after your last treatment.Normally pay out within 10 days.Never had a problem

Thanks for the replies, I guess I need to wait for a letter only six weeks since I signed up so lets see how long this takes.

I'd get in touch with them especially as the money is being deducted:

Call 020 7265 7111 or email dental@unum.co.uk, explain it's an employee policy through Royal Mail.

I have the cover and it does cover 100% of NHS costs. I recently put in a claim and they only paid out a percentage of the cost. After emailing them they apologised and made up the full amount so you need to keep an eye on them.

Just logged in and it's there in 'My Benefits', says you can purchase it all year round so should be there, I use it but you
need to remember to use it even if you just have two checkups and two hygienist appointments per year otherwise you'll
end up paying more than you receive. Check out the payment limits and what your dentist would charge.

Thanks @yellowbelly. It's not there for me - do you think there are like;y o be restrictions on new employees? I've only been on a permanent contract for a few weeks.

Also - am part time - could that make a difference?

I'm looking here:

and in and around there, but no 'benefts' section :(
