Exactly people forget that living costs vary drastically across the country. In the south-east living off £12.05/hour is more like surviving. Especially in the expensive commuting towns, where average property price is well above national average. £12.05/hour in Guildford doesn't go as far as in Burnley.

Well I have no idea but similar property in Burnley must be around half the price of that in Guildford, Surrey. Council tax etc all cheaper I think. When you factor the cost of rent of similar property in both towns, it's going to be a lot cheaper up north isn't it?

Question for anyone who is P/T, in previous years did you get paid your pro rota entitlement bonus pre xmas and the rest(if worked hours up to ft over the qualifying period) in Jan without any hassle or is it something you potentially have to chase up? Unsure why they wouldn't just pay it all in one go with the hours you've worked already available to them.

I remained on my 30 hour contract last year and the extra was paid in January automatically. I think it was only for one of the two bonuses, and I wasn't bothered to work out if it was correct.

If you are part time but made up to full time for the four week pressure period you get the full bonus in December.

The pro-rata is the best, P/T on 30 hours a week, coming in 5 days a week doing full deliveries every day getting pro rata bonus. That is so unfair, if you go out and do deliveries over xmas you should get full bonus. But the union negotiated that so what do you expect. We even have a lovely d2d again on xmas week,more thanks again to our great union asking mail centre workers to vote for a delivery supplement for d2d that they don't need to deliver, only posties need to deliver d2d. Now we get shafted every week on these.

No one gets paid for D2D , mail centre staff don't get a delivery supplement , Delivery staff outnumber mail centre staff massively.

Never had a problem, I think the top up payment is not paid until Jan because it depends on the O/T you've worked up until Xmas
and because of the PSP cut off dates at Xmas not all the O/T data might be up to date.

Every year you can request to be made up (temporarily) during 'peak' to F/T to get the full bonus - did your
rep do this or did you chase it up yourself?

The delivery supplement is not a payment for D2D, it's a supplement for a deficiency of payment for D2D. The supplement plugs the hole in your wages after D2D payment was axed in the 2010 deal.
