Workplace Coach
Was just wondering if this position is a job for life or if someone other than the present incumbent can apply to take over the position. Ours was hand picked by our last DOM (a##hole) and quite frankly does absolutely diddly squat to justify earning whatever the tariff is for the "extra remuneration" Can anyone enlighten me ?

Re: Workplace Coach
Another bonkers idea from Royal Mail to reward certain members of staff
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Re: Workplace Coach
The real Answer follows:
It is basically a job for life. However, the coach can be removed by the DOM for a variety of reasons, or the coach can resign.

So Simon's screwing up all of my hard work?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Workplace Coach
We had two in our office! One kept on going on about the future vehicles we could look forward to. Like electric trolleys. That was from 10 years ago. The other one was put in charge of training on PDAs. Just don’t ask him any questions as he hadn’t a clue! And the only round he could train newbies on was his own! Waste of money, waste of space!

This is another post that shows why this place needs a "like" button. (As wonderful as it otherwise is.)

Re: Workplace Coach
Thanks for the replies, glad to hear that it's not only my office but literally nationwide. Another fine example of how to waste money that could be put to far greater use and benefit everyone and not just the chosen few.

Re: Workplace Coach
We’ve got loads in our office, most of whom do f**k all to justify the extra coin. In fact our manager tells everybody else to do the job that they’re supposed to be doing every morning

Re: Workplace Coach
i don't get the animosity myself, we have 3, all great guys, someone's got to get the money even if for very little work
i'm more pee'd off as to why half of the guys are so slow at prepping that they only have to do 1 duty to do whereas the rest must prep 2 in the same timescale, that cost's the company far more than than the free £35 coaches get p/w

To all WPC's that are doing any training...
Dummy barcodes-please cease use
As part of some of the recent scanning enhancements we shared dummy barcodes for you to use when coaching colleagues. We have been asked to cease use of these as its causing issues with business data and reporting.
I've removed these from the sharepoint, could you also please destroy and cease using any hard copies of these.
I have asked the project team deploying future developments to consider how this can be approached in the future, in the meantime consider training on live mail, appreciate this won't help training in advance, lets see what the alternative is-thanks all!
So can the 2 of you please stop it.
