I'm playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order

So what's your office plan this week

I'm interested tomorrow now to see whether our DOM is being told he can't spend or whether he's choosing to not spend

Same as the preceding weeks, wing it. Rely on people going over their time, throw overtime at the early starters and late parcel runs, threaten the finish on timers with removal from duty. Take large parcels for an early drive around then bring them back after everyone has left on delivery as a surprise on their return.

Have managers walk around loudly shouting things like "clear your IPS please," "get on sorting now, there's more packets," and "don't forget to clear your tracked" instead of listening to staff or dealing with any of the issues (too much work, too small vans, not enough hours in the week to clear one day's work etc)

We've got a few Agency guys & hire vans.... but because we started off short of staff all they've done is basically get us up to where we should have been before the Christmas Pressure. So we haven't really got any extra staff. :arrrghhh

Like everyone else our parcels have gone ballistic, not at all impressed that we're still having to deliver Households (in previous years pre-privatisation they would have put a block on them for December). :thumbdown

The majority of posties are just doing the best they can with the extra workload, and booking a couple of hours pressure every day. :Boo hoo! It probably won't last until Christmas ..... they'll get pissed off with it by then. If you take your day off you'll probably come back to two days mail (less the Tracked). :whistle

Surprisingly the "Usual Suspects" are still manageing to come back into the office bang on time, despite spending the entire morning moaning about how many parcels they've got... and how it's going to be really hard for them to manage to get it done in time. :cuppa

My day off hasn't been covered for a few months now, so always come back to two days work. Because of this i am not doing any overtime at Christmas like i used to. I always cleared all my work for the day in past Christmas's. Not now, they can shove it. Come in, work to my time, take my break go home. Repeat.

Bottomless pit of overtime at our place, but they’re struggling to get anyone to do any as most of us are so fed up and have decided we’re just working to time this year. They’re offering us 4 hours to do an hours work and we’re still refusing !

Haven't been offered anything of the sort at our place. They're actively trying to cut overtime, it seems.... As backwards as you can get :nana :nana
