I'm posting this for a colleague without internet access.
He was off work for several months with 'Plantar Fasciitis' or policeman's foot & is waiting for an operation. He hasn't had an ATOS appt despite asking over & over again for one. He was due to have a telephone interview with them today, won't know the outcome until tomorrow. RM management let him come back to work on light duties a few weeks ago before his full sick pay ran out. I got in yesterday & he was on his frame having been told he was to do the full duty. RM management had told him that he had to return to his duty or he would lose it. The CWU rep negotiated that he do half his walk & see how he gets on which my mate was willing to do. They told him that they couldn't transfer him to a larger office for indoor duties because everywhere is facing cutbacks. He was told to consider medical retirement.
I thought that they had to accommodate him elsewhere as it is obviously a work related injury. Has anyone got any ideas about this or any experience of anything similar.
