RMCtv : Reminder of policies for political and talking to the media : By Jenny 'Unfortunately' Hall

Post by POSTMAN »

Simon 'Don't talk to the press fgs!' Thomson

Team - Policies, Political & the Media - I have been asked about this several times over the last week - incase you missed Jenny’s communication on the topic yesterday…..
If in doubt, email -> press.office@royalmail.com

Jenny 'Unfortunately' Hall : Director Corporate Affairs

"As we enter the festive period, we always get increased interest from the media and politicians
about what we do.

In the Corporate Affairs team we organise a number of press visits during the season to
showcase Royal Mail, and we also give politicians an opportunity to say thank you to their local
teams.

However, we know that sometimes staff are also approached direct by media or politicians, so |
wanted to use this as an opportunity to remind you of our policies.

In brief:

You should contact our Royal Mail press office if you are approached by the press — please
email press.office@royalmail.com and this team will liaise with the press on behalf of the
company

Political visits require the permission of the Public Affairs team before going ahead and can
only take place with permission, in writing, from the Director of External Affairs and Policy. If
you receive a request directly from an MP, political organisation or their representative,
please contact david.s.gold@royalmail.com or call 07587 888842.

Thank you for all your help in making these visits a success, and for helping us to keep building
Trust in Royal Mail."

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

and probably be ignored by all sides. It's not like we are saying anything we haven't been saying for years.

Take it you've been stalking Jenny Hall again Postman? :left:

This reminds me of the Old Army directive, "All enquiries must be referrred to the Official Unit Press Officer". I don't think it's as relevant to the crazy world of Royal Mail. If any reporter wants to ask me my opinion of RMs Christmas Planning they'd better have a large notebook. :cuppa

I think the UK Press well aware of our plight already re amount of complaints received UK Wide
Even friends of mine not seen in a while, pointed out our issues when seen recently .
Do not think we will get many Politician Visits this Christmas
Lets face it most Depots no cleaners/looking tardy and dirty and overwhelmed with Mail/Parcels also non mask wearing ??
Would not think Corporate Affairs that busy this time of year
We print out the same statement to every incident, in relation to Covid/Staff Shortage/Sickness !!!
Wondering if Ms Hall offered to volunteer her help re Local Depot at this tough time of year ??
We will go to the bitter end to get it done-we always do
Rather Poignant though in April 2022 Our Wages will go down re National Insurance hike
