Let’s hope some of us don’t get a pull for being overweight. There are weight limits. I have totally given up after all these years. I feel defeated. The place is a joke. Where is the union?

total cock up, sometimes as the walker i have to go out with first bag on my lap, and of course it all shifts on bends and "dissapears", arse out of van door for five minutes, and muscle strain, bad backs digging stuff out. all while looking at your watch trying to work out how much to cut off. :evil/mad

Unsuitable vans for large parcels and bags of letters. You cant find anything and there is no room to move. Trolley gets jammed on something so you are straining to get it out of the van. Worst Christmas I’ve ever known and it hasn’t started yet.

Yeah I reckon this crap wastes me about half an hour a day when I'm in a Combi. No matter how much you try to keep things in some sort of order, there's just not enough space. Sometimes takes literally 5 minutes to find 1 packet.

And my duty is singleton van, god knows how van shares manage!

I'm in combo with a busted side door that won't open, packets piled to the ceiling plus a few in the passenger seat (which is a real no no until management want something cleared.) Decided to RON a chunk of packets to see what time it gave me, and it was giving me 4.5 hours just on the packets (not all of them.)

Other postie's striding past with their York's 2/3 full, I'm struggling to load 2.5 York's into a tiny van. Every one of them, from DOM, line managers to the postie's themselves made out like what I was doing was "just Christmas," whilst other people visibly doing less than half my load in bigger vans

I'd guess we're also only a few days away from Parcelforce not coping, thus us taking some of their work on too.

I have seen parcel guys at our DO running much larger than a combi vans. They go out on their deliveries often full. Amount of large amazon parcels is astonishing combined with big zara, adidas boxes and the usual christmas food deliveries. Almost forgot the super heave bulky boots packets. Something would have to give. Either they get rid of largest, heaviest stuff and move to parcelforce or get us larger vans. Oh wait, it is a little too late now.

thank you rambo, no i dont "have to" anymore than i "have to" go to work in the first place, as long as i personally feel i have done my best, thats enough. however despite my little rant, there are a lot of people in the world worse off than you and i. and i tolerate some less than ideal work practices, although it might make me unhappy every day. dont preach to me, i grew up in the school of hard knocks, and maybe old enough to be your father. knit picking other posts is just sad, receive it in the spirit it was given, we all need to let off some steam here, thats what its for, yes ? bye :speak to the hand

Be careful what you wish for Blacov. If you talk to some of the Parcel Force guys they hate the Large Mercedes Sprinters, because they can't get into the smaller New Build closes, and they're a bugger to try and turn around. :arrrghhh

I must admit since we went up to the larger partner vans it has been a bit of a problem getting into some of the tighter driveways etc. Look on the bright side they might have just fitted towbars and given us trailers! :cuppa

That is true what you say. I guess in ideal world they would split the workload so it can be easily accommodated by our existing red fleet. This is unfortunately just wishful thinking.

Same here. If you show that you’re willing to take more and move faster it’s seen as the new expected. Any slower than your usual rate, albeit faster than everyone else, is seen as “slow”…
