Regulator

Post by olilew »

With these massive failures up and down the country why is the regulator not all over Royal Mail like a rash? Surely RM have to be held to account for the diabolical quality of service?

A massive fine from Ofcom in the offing, for failing quality targets? How much are the fines for breaches, and are they on a sliding scale - the bigger the shortfall, the higher the fines?

Have the Royal Mail board made a calculated decision that it's worth writing off the fines that may be imposed if they will be less than the savings achieved by cutting corners with staffing and resourcing the business properly, to help swell the bottom line for shareholders and senior executives bonuses and other enhancements?

I wonder if Ofcom have a confidential whistleblower helpline, I very much doubt they are being given the full facts from RM - I wonder how they’d react to reports of only 10% of rounds being cleared on a daily basis up and down the country, of 1st class mail shoved under frames for days on end. And the companies paying for D2Ds, I wonder if they know there’s a good chance some are sitting in yorks for a few weeks before being binned.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

by all accounts the reasons they are ''getting away with it'' is they are telling ofcom the reasons for all the failures is the revisions. so ofcom have allowed them to get away with all these diabolical failures until the revisions are bedded in. its an absolute crock of s**t if this is true. our revisions haven't even started yet!!. they've stopped ALL the days off over the pressure period, asking posties to leave stuff in if you are going to be over your time by an HOUR!, some duties only taking parcels for days one end and just leaving the mail. its an ABSOLUTE F****** DISGRACE. total shower of shite management. sack the board.

Now we are into the Christmas period the "targets" lapse  I don't think the regulator has an opinion about them for the 4 weeks before Christmas. But after that, they should be all over RM, and I can see a £50 Million + fine looming.
