RMCtv : Traffic Forecast Week 37 Onwards

The business has issued a revised traffic forecast for weeks 37 - 39 based on the actual volume we have received in week 35.

This means that Parcel Volumes will be reduced in weeks 37 & 38, but increased in week 39, letter volume currently remain the same.

This change will be implemented on Wednesday the 1st of December and will overwrite all locally input traffic data in IWT.

This is to align to the lower end of the forecast range, but will be constantly reviewed and updated if needed.

So just because a certain amount of parcels were delivered in week 35 , Royal Mail can predict how many will be delivered in the following 2 weeks . They must be making this s**t up .

I can correctly forecast that the volume on my delivery has gone rapidly up due to it not being covered (again) on my day off today.

I can also correctly forecast the volume of mail cut off on my delivery because of the above will rise rapidly tomorrow.

Are they gonna change from chronically understaffed and massively failing the USO every day to something different, just because forecast has changed?

What difference does this bollox make
I takes as long as it takes.
Its an office average so some will be heavy and some will be less.
As a previous posted said, does it allow for 12 d2d's left from the previous weeks plus 3 rows still in the frame and 6 bags of parcels that were left behind not tracked.
We need a lighter week just to catch up a bit and not to give us extra work

Absolute bollocks, unless they've got a crystal ball how can anyone say what the amount of parcels can be at any given time, it's impossible to know how many people will suddenly think "I know I'll just order something online"

And someone else gets paid to move resources from one area to a other. Insert a few more people and systems, then you've got a nice big mess, and ironically the blame gets put on the figures and we're told to work harder. Great system

Traffic Forecast Week 37 Onwards

After further review the Forecast in IWT covering weeks 37 - 39 will not be updated with data from week 35 actuals. We are currently loading a revised forecast into IWT that will be live by 12pm on Saturday 4th December, this is based on the latest trend / posting data and units should review their resourcing plans following the usual weekly RTD process.
