Simon Thomson

Team - as you know I believe we should always be transparent - on Watchdog tonight - played out as part of the One Show around 7pm - our Quality of Service will be a key feature - including interviews with a number of Posties (we think) from our team - three sites are the focus - Chelmsford, Coatbridge & Wakefield - we believe the message will be “revisions have damaged letter QoS”...
it is all about being fair - it isn’t fair that on a 5 hour delivery span there is 1.5 hours difference between members of the team - for the £same wage...

Does he think that they are fake posties?
Also the plebs on Workplace are saying it's wrong that our posties are bringing Royal Mail into dispute by anonymously speaking to them.

Answering about the posties 'grassing'...
Jenny Hall : Director Corporate Affairs
we’re expecting this to be anonymous staff members unfortunately
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

So you either want transparency, as Simpleton says, which will come with anonymity, or you would prefer the happy clappy echo chamber of Workplace?

Also is it the very fact that posties are appearing on tv which makes this "bringing Right Royal Fail into disrepute? I can only assume that you're busy brown-nosing and line-toeing seeing as you have no idea what they have said yet. Miserable fractions of people.

Anyway i was one of those interviewed, my name is and the names of my co-conspirators are

I M Spartacus
Tess Tickle
Holden MaGroyne
Hugh Janus

It's a double whammy, the Panorama program is about the HGV shortage, I think Achim Dunnwald will be at the one show according to Simon.

OPG

I expect the company to try & present a good face as it is their responsibility to shareholders which legally outweighs their responsibility to the employees.

What 'disappoints' me is fellow employees calling for a witch hunt.

We're all in this together whatever job we do! If someone is deliberately trying to tear down the company for malicious reasons then I'm the first person to advocate getting them stopped but if they're pointing out real issues with real-world consequences then they should be celebrated not punished!!!!

I am not affected personally by what you guys are going through but the same attitude of covering up unpalatable news goes on through out all areas of the business & sadly it's systemic & worse it is enabled by employees!

Now I suspect most of them are management grades & I understand why because managements jobs are far less secure than the rank & files thanks to the CWU but it's a backwards looking, self-serving viewpoint that doesn't help the company in the long run.

And what the actual proverbial was the above quote in reference to? Just drop this in, apropos of nothing, in order to look like you might actually do something about the unequal workloads as a sop for forcing through the very poorly planned and realised revisions eh?

I was more concerned about the '5 hour delivery span'. Is he inferring that the aim is 5 hour walks?

Am I missing something, or is that statement just completely wrong?

Royal Mail will quote the same drool that absences and covid isolations are effecting these deliveries at the moment and staff are working as hard as they can to deliver a first class service :Boo hoo!
In reality many revisions where implemented by untrained people and Quality is at its lowest since… well forever.

On workplace Simon keeps banging the drum that letters are 60%/ 50% down over last 10 years - well if this is case why the hell are there so many failures?

Area managers dont want to fill vacancies, failures in DOs are so so commonplace now and no one really cares anymore. Recruitment should of been done for peak months ago but no our office is trying to recruit now.
But main point is no one cares from top to the bottom now

3 cracking Depots to choose !! All of them totally in the MIRE
And we all know why they are dont we ??
Nothing to do with the personnel there
But Fear not Colleagues
The Task Force is bound to be on its way- Airborne on The Flying Pig and the Fairy Godmother strapped on tight
Upon Arrival she will sprinkle some Resources Dust, some Simplifying Dust ,and finally some thinking outside the box Dust and all the problems will go away !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep working hard Ladies and Gentleman Remember your Pay is going down in April when New National Insurance Contributions kick in
Perhaps Mr Thompson and his team will pull out all the stops like they did re Revisons, and get the New pay deal done in record time ???
But then again I think we will need the Fairy Godmother at the helm for that to happen

What Simon can't seem to grasp is that there are still staff as well as customers who still care about the quality of service. Simon and his cronies seem hell bent on destroying the company for a short term gain for shareholders. As long as the posties provide an honest assessment and aren't just hell bent on revenge then i say well done to them for sticking their heads above the parapet

No extra vans , agency staff fed up and leaving already , lost a few staff last cpl weeks had enough, revisions making it impossible to get out anywhere near a decent time , arguements, stress , but on a positive note ,,,,
