Post by BlancHall »

hi all

really curious about tjhis, how much paid sick leave can you have before you lose your entitlement to paid sick leave.

i know a postie who has been on and of sick with the big C for 5 years and she no longer gets paid sick leave..didn't think this was possible.

You receive full pay for the first six months, then half pay for the next six months, then your pay is stopped.

I am not sure about allowances, but I think they can be stopped before the end of the first six month period,Somebody else may be more informed on the allowance issue.

Also I beleive that your sick periods regarding pay are calculated over a three year period, so if you have two six month periods in three years then RM can stop your pay.

I think allowances can be stopped after six weeks - though I can't recall where I got it from - I remember thinking at the time it was a bit premature.

So. Does this also apply to the heirarchy?

I've always been curious exactly what happens behind closed doors in the ranks.
I'm sure that there is some parallel cameradarie where they look after their own.
Anyone here have privy to this information.
Sick leave is sick leave is sick leave...... Yeah?
I'm going to assume that the old hands in the pockets club have a more lenient stance in their own clique while your average sweat shop postie/ processor/driver/phg has to sit and listen to the 'crime of illness absence' be read out.
So, is there a level playing field here or is there really people entitled to escape the tyranical stages of genuine sick leave?

Surely religion's core is based on the fact some "thing" or God came from nowhere and magically created everything as well? At least science adds some reason and logic to the debate on how we came to be, instead of the books of hand me down, unsubstantiated, far fetched stories religions base themselves on.

I spotted this comical philosophy on Photobucket when I signed up and I thought it presented food for thought with a firm tongue in cheek angle on creationist theorys.
I have no religious affiliations whatsoever. Life is for living not fuddling our heads about spirituality or creationist ideologies.
