Sorry if this has been mentioned before but my day off falls on Tuesday 28th December. I've been told this morning I'm not entitled to a day back or to be paid for it. My manager says this has been agreed with the union. Can anybody tell me if this is true.

I could be wrong but I think the 28th is replacement for the boxing day Bank Holiday. As such you would be entitled to the regular bank holiday payment or days leave.
If your day off was to fall on Xmas day or new years day, then I believe what the manager is saying would be correct, as these are non service days as opposed to bank Holidays.
