Hang on give the guys a break, they have been through a nerve wracking series of negotiations and most definitely need a fortnight break, good grief they can't be expected to be at full throttle at Christmas time - are you lot - oh yes, still they did get you a good pay deal AND an extra five Christmases to enjoy your Xmas tips.borderscot wrote:thought the last two weeks was normal service

DVBUK.. Mate i do agree that there are good people on the CWU HQ and PEC but i know as i myself are going thru the last THREE YEARS problems with RM and bullys... The CWU havent backed me as they should.. In my opinion...
Now the last deal that was again hard fort but shabblerly ended and informed to the members....
The two week News black out was a sham and RM pulled the wool over our eyes and this in my view lost us the momentum we had behind for a fight and BETTER results in our negotiating....
I know its easy to sit and say "I WOULD OF" and "THEY SHOULD DO" when im not in the seat.... Fair call.. I should stand up and make my points heard and stick up for what i shout about... I know i wouldnt be backed as i and many on here would be rail roaded an put under the party line... Ive seen it... It happends.. I would love to be more ACTIVE in the CWU but lots of the politics is not my cup of tea.. I feel as Rhino has posted on this site a great piece about local help and EVERYBODY making a difference in there place of work not just relying on the reps or Branch to deal with things.. WE ALL need to take part in more issues for all our sakes..
More pressure on strike breakers and people who intend to not work to the 318'S......
CWU members should now remember the strike breakers and backsliders and take them to the union and make em put up of ship out.... WE dont need backstabbers......
I hope we can keep things in perspective and hold some moral ground even if we give up some rights that we did have in the new FLEXIBILITY that RM will bring in... WITH THE HELP OF US THE CWU MEMBERS...
Lets hope every MC and DO n RDC in the countrys have a open forum and a committee to help the rep and branch...
WE NEED TO CARRY ON THE FIGHT...

Actually LT I was speaking with tongue in cheek there - those we employ should definitely NOT enjoy better working conditions, pensions and perks than we ourselves enjoy. I just wonder how much they are going to be awarding themslves in pay rises this year.L Tommo wrote:DVBUK.. So which CWU grade wage should those who draw their wages from the CWU rather than a employer receive?
How about the grade that gets paid the most, which i suspect would be a BT or Virgin media job rather than a Royal Mail Group job?
To clarify dvbuk 55 do you include people such as the staff at Alvescot lodge or admin staff at HQ as those we employ? Or are you refering to the officers of the CWU?

There would perhaps be a sharpening of the mind if the officers of the Union were under the same auspices as the rest of us nicht wahr? We retire at 65, they retire at 65, our pension is curtailed, their pension is curtailed, our pay increase is 2.5 over two years and so is theirs, our working conditions are worsened so is theirs.Big Daz wrote:Why?
Do you see where I'm coming from? It is easier to agree working conditions, pay and pensions detrimental to those enduring it IF you aren't actually going to endure it yourself.
