In our Office there's backlogs like you wouldn't believe on some walks.
No leadership only large parcels, tracked & specials get delivered daily.
No plan as to how to catch up as not enough staff to cover days off. The service people are getting on letters is embarrassing & disgraceful.
How's everyone's office coping after ill timed & unmanageable revisions.
Is this some part of a Royal mail masterplan to get rid of the universal service 6 days a week?

If RM wanted to get rid of the 6 day USO they would just need to ask.
They wouldn't need to trash the business beforehand.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Shared van walk im on. 14 trays of Mail piled up, 2 York’s of absolutely full to the brim non tracked parcels all still sitting there after completing today and booking 30 mins. Many other walks are similar if not worse. There is no plan to fix or recover this and with Xmas coming it’s going to get 10 times worse. Shambles from top to bottom.

Loads of frames in my DO with trays stacked & non tracked bulk & non bulk piling up. I just can't see how it can be caught up now that it's gotten so bad. It's hard to see a happy ending and we're still only in the middle of November.

Answers on a postcard please!! Just don't expect the postcard to be delivered any time soon :shhhhh

Not surprised, who would want to come back in to two or more day’s worth of mail and then have to argue with the manager because you don’t want to go over, might as well sling it out and apply for another job while your off.

I estimate only 20% of rounds are being cleared on average here. IPS is all over the place because people don’t know what’s on what round anymore. Not enough vans so we are having 2 rural duties going out in 1 van just doing tracked/specials, then next day another 2 rural duties doing the same! Management here seem to have given up as well, for once they seem as fed up as us. Last year there were probably 10 overtime junkies in my section (I was one), now there’s 2, so much goodwill has gone.

It doesn’t bother me that much (start time, finish time plus I’m currently on annual leave) but I’ve no idea how we’ll manage in the coming weeks.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

I've gotten on top of my backlog so many times this year only to come in after my day off and have it build right back up again. Management doesn't care, so I don't either now. The first month of the revision ran me right into the ground trying to complete the impossible, so I'm taking it easy from here to Christmas.
The machine stops.

RM can ask to have short term exceptions to the USO, such as for non service days over Christmas.
But if they want to get rid of the 6 day USO permanently, they would need a new law and the approval of Parliament.
