I did give it a try when it was on Facebook, but the back-slapping sickened me, and the final straw was the repeated accusation that some are afraid of change.

Okay nothing wrong with back-slapping, but 20 minutes of "we did well", "we made sure of" at the very start made it seem like the main reason for the video was to promote themselves, not informing the membership, or addressing their concerns. I am not a raving left-wing loony, in fact, I have supported the CWU on here when I think they deserve it, and sometimes against the prevalent feeling of RMC members. But yesterday was embarrassing.

I worked at a SW London DO for 25 years
Yes when I first started the walks were easy and like most offices I used to be finished by 12.00 most days with a bit of docket
When I last done a walk there I pretty much worked to my time plus there were days when we would have to lapse
The walk I had then would take me from anything from 3-3.30 hours
Speaking to old colleges that walk has got bigger due to new builds and less duties (58 when I first started 24 now)
4.30 hours
Yes there may well be a few offices that have easier walks but I would think that most London offices have fairly large delivery spans

Sorry Mr Pullinger but in my opinion most of the workforce are not scared of change as we have seen many changes over the years which although not perfect they have been accepted with very little resistance. Unfortunately the latest offering of change is a complete shambles with very little regard for the workforce or the public that it serves.
The only thing that has changed, and it is something that the CWU may have to be scared of, is support from the membership. I and a few others in my D.O. and probably more offices around the country are more and more disillusioned with the Union to the point where if the CWU ever balloted me personally again for Industrial Action it can go do one. I am no longer interested.

FYI - London is not the whole of the south ( and your DOM is probably talking shite anyway ).

Tbh I wouldn't believe what a DOM says I would def take that with a pinch of salt for sure. Yes London still have abit of power but thats becasue their branches especially in the actual London Postcodes areas are better led then outside London

I would say its not scared of change its not wanting change. How many Posties don't do the job as laid out (doing it properly)? How many Posties rush around because they need to finish early and don't want to do lapsing if they are finishing early? How many of the faster Posties moan about the slower Posties not pulling their weight? How many Posties laughed at the Union Reps when they were warning them of what was coming in 2007? How many Posties suck up to management when it suits them but moan at the Union when the management stitch them up even thru they were warned?
I am a Postie of 30years and have seen all of this and still see it. If your revision is not working then you have to fill in that questionaire they have asked the Posties to fill out if the revision is not working. Also RM are going on the daily PDA actual figures that you are giving them everyday and if you are cutting up the job the only person to blame is you not the CWU leadership. Also if the revision was brought in by executive action and they didn't work with the local CWU or the Posties then it has to be highlighted.
Believe me I have also seen bad CWU Reps too over my 30years and some of them have blamed the CWU at SW19 for them doing a bad job. If that the case ur rep not doing their job properly vote them out at the next election

Filled out questionare ( no response) , we were ignored all the way through revision process, and still have no input when the duties are now a complete mess. Unions response , just do your hours thats it . Some of us have pride in our job , and to see it in such a mess that could have been avoided is really sad . The posties have been made a fool of , when we could have made a real difference to revisions. The pressure is building ,,
