Jobshare/3 day week

Post by amstocks »

I am wanting to reduce my days worked to 3 days per week from the normal 5. At present I am being stonewalled because it doesn't fit with the neat DO plan. I don't want to quit the job but am finding 5 days a week with regularly being asked to work my day off too much. Any information from others who have got this arrangemnent would be appreciated

a few do it at ours, 6 on 6 off so no cover duty needed, they also get duties ringfenced with the upcoming repick
does sound ok if you can afford it but some work extra days which kinda defeats the object of job shares if you ask me

You can't just turn around and say I want to do this or that just because.

We have part timers on 20 hours & 22.5 contracts if you insist on working just those hours, it’s not worth bringing you in over 5 days for 4 & 4.5 hours, so in our office they bring you in over 3 or 4 days to match your contracted hours, stick to your guns.

You might have to do some of the leg work yourself ie find a colleague who wants to reduce as well
and a duty that this might work with then come up with a plan to present to management.
