He can smooth talk all he likes about the agreement and the SWW and the fact that this included the revisions BUT
We need to ask the key question on how we can report delivery failures as its obvious to me that Royal Mail are deliberately failing their USO in order to save on costs. Thats bad for us because the company now expect its staff to come in and deliver double or even triple mail and packets.
Now, we don't need the bullish*t on just working your hours to your time speech on this. We need to be able to call Royal Mail out because it is really destroying morale, it is leading to sick absences and staff struggling with these workloads and their mental health. Whatever has happened to the company providing a 1st class service?? Who is reporting the delivery failures on a daily basis and what is being done about it?? You can't just blame the postie. We didn't ask for an hour off of the working week and no one is going to vote for a pay decrease are they?
If the Union accept that deliveries are just failing and continue to fail with no recourse then we may well end up delivering mail a few times a week. And just imagine the huge cost savings that the company can make doing this in future and then ask yourself why any self respecting trade union would continue to allow that to happen when there are no posties and Union members anymore.....
