I'm on a 24 hours contract but have automatically been out down for 5 days.
Week one after not knowing where to actually record OT or the different reason tags for OT (pressure, prep etc.) I emailed my manager everything including coming in early for prep, leaving late, and other agreed on extra work and full day OT for the 5th day.
I got an email back from payroll kindly advising that I need to also claim 1h 12 a day, if I am working 6 hours a day and 5 days.
This confused me but I came to the realisation that the system will assume, as I am on a 24 hour contract, that if I work 5 days I'm only working 4 hours 48 a day. (20hs divide by 5.) Even though I put a full day as OT i'm guessing that was ignored of the system already has me down for 5 days.
I was since told when trying to calculate OT that I should only add the 1h 12 if I have been put on ATD, which I wouldn't know if I have or not as I work all over. I also said that I don't really care if I have been put on ATD or not if I'm working the 6 hours (Always) I am getting paid for what I work. And to be fair I think I do.
It is really starting to annoy me as it looks like I'm taking the piss with 3 to 4 types of OT a day. And I am thinking about taking a bigger contract just to make OT easier to calculate.
Can anyone make more sense of this than me?
Thanks
