Hospital Appointment
I have a hospital appointment which is on a work day right in the middle of my shift. Can’t change appointment as it’s urgent and I have received a cancellation slot if I postpone I will wait many more weeks. Told DOM today and he said I need to change my day off that week but I can’t as have another appointment on my day off. What is the policy for hospital appointments surely I shouldn’t have to use annual leave for it ?

I believe that hospital appointments are normally unpaid leave

working hours. If this is not possible, managers can allow them to make up
the time or change their shift. In exceptional circumstances, managers may

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Thanks everyone I think it just sums up how little they care for us to not let us have a couple of hours paid time off to attend a hospital appointment.

Not practical my delivery is very rural so would take me another 50 minutes to get back to it then another few hours delivery probably get finished 5/6 o’clock I have to be back home no later than 4 o’clock to look after kids as wife works evenings. Looks like I will have to use days annual leave

I'd be interested to know other employers who allow paid time off without the requirement to make the lost time up? You are just a number, you work for them for a set number of hours, they pay you for said set number of hours. That's it I'm afraid!
