Yes about time they sent an update to keep it in portrait and remove the need to swipe up after pressing the top button.

Coming soon.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The auto rotate not rotating. An office is trialing it.

Amazing how something so simple makes it to full release. :arrrghhh

Whoever communicates with the developers needs the sack. Honestly. Since i've been here i've never seen an update on the PDA that improved the experience. Consistently PDA issues got blamed on old hardware, but it's only the half the story. They could have used a heavily stripped down delivery app for posties to get the last use of the old PDAs, would have saved some serious money if that £1k per new PDA is anything near true.

They should have at least move all the delivery stuff into its own app. What's the point in the "setting up stuff for your location" stuff? Any PDA is only ever going to be used at a single office so that that crap should already be setup

I'd still like to know which genius programmed it so submitting Deliver to Safeplace takes you to a screen asking you to Choose Safeplace option, and not straight to the list of safe place options!

Obviously I don't have one of the PDAs on me now, but is it possible to check the Settings?
Setting Screen Rotation

By default, screen rotation is enabled.
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Touch Display > Advanced.
  3. Touch Auto-rotate screen.
  4. Touch the Home button

Setting Home Screen Rotation

By default, the Home screen rotation is disabled.
  1. Touch and hold anywhere on the Home screen until the options appear.
  2. Touch Home settings.
  3. Touch the Home Allow screen rotation switch.
  4. Touch the Home button.
  5. Rotate the device.
Once I get my paws on the new PDA, I'll check it out.

Cheers PBD. I had a look nearly two weeks ago and it looked like advanced settings needed admin password. Never actually thought to try pressing and holding on home screen!

So annoying the auto rotation. Why do Royal Mail continually introduce things without consulting with people who actually use these things. A simple trial would have shown how stupid this is. Ridiculous.

Word seems to be they ignored the trialists who did not want this version.
