Triggered a stage after 1 absence since my last?

Post by Lawrencepa2014 »

I had one absence since my last stage and they’re trying to pull me in again for another attendance meeting (seems by the letter they want to give me another stage). However I’ve only had one absence since my last one. I have bipolar so it’s been for mental health reasons and I know I’m under the equality act but still I don’t understand why they’re pulling me in for a stage? They do the stages anyway for disabilities but I don’t know how it works if you’re off for reasons regarding your disability (if anyone knows please share). Are they trying to stitch me up by giving me another stage when I’ve only had one absence since then? (It was for 4 working days + 2 days off rotational and Sunday)

I stand to be corrected so.....

They may be including some of the absences that triggered your 1st stage, if they fall within a calendar year of your last absence, which sounds s**t but is all part of the bullshit system.
Let your rep handle it and try not to worry.

NATIONAL ATTENDANCE AGREEMENT DOCS
Personally I still don't understand this one.

A fixed six months period in which to meet the standards after a Stage 1 and Stage 2 review replaces the current rolling period. A member who has received a Stage 1 review will come off the procedure after six months if the standards are met.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
