All they’ve done is cut a load of hours and put most the boxes on delivery but nothing has been said about an actual revision

I take it your SWW was just a mandatory later start.
Seems quite a few offices are not actually having a revision as managers saying technically they don't need one. So much for levelling out deliveries with fair and manageable workloads just extra work for everyone including deliveries who claim over time daily

It really is a farce.

The reduction to 37 hours is supposed to be dependent on a revision.

Managers aren't bothering to carry out revisions, which is down to laziness and/or incompetence.

Our "revision" nothing changes except the FT staff have to come in 12 mins later. Which will last a couple weeks till people realise they haven't got enough time to prep, and then the culture of starting early will become worse...

so if some say they start on the new 37hr week next week, then those still on a 38hr week will get a paid 1hr overtime and all p/t staff get their increase too?

Which is why it's a farce, those on 38hrs now get reduced to 37hrs but that 1hrs work still has to be done by someone, so if the current
38hr person comes in later it falls to others because we're all lazy or the 38hr person (now 37hrs) just does an hours OT or the RM theory
is that this new D+5 mail when it comes in will cut that time out on indoor prep and outdoor calls and we'll all be singing and dancing
down the yellow brick road to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

If we're doing revisions now has the D+5 retaining mail process started at the mail centres?

At least from RM's POV if they cut 38hrs to 37hrs they'll be saving that on holiday pay - or will they? They'll
definitely be saving pension contributions on that hour though.

D+5 won't save 12 minutes a day.
If they think that they're in for a big shock.
All it does is push the same mail further down the chain.
At some point in the week it will have to be delivered.
To be delivered it has to still be sorted manually into the frame.
So how does that save an hour over the week?
Absolutely deluded, either that or it's just another stick to hit us with.

We're not doing the D+5 as we've not got the machine capacity.

Stackers: It apparently needs 2 free stackers (18 & 19) to work but all our batches require all 19 stackers to be available (stacker 20 is the combined reject and overflow output). There's not enough room on our iLSMs to be able to split all the batches, some might have to be split soon anyway when they hit the maximum number of DPs

Start Times: Apparently sequencing can't be started until after 00:00 with it. On a quiet day it's doable but on a normal or busy day it will result in some batches failing and most likely getting sent as manual. It would require that our final dispatches be a couple of hours later, with the knock-on affect on start times for DOs
