We have too, but I believe most delivery offices have them. And I believe they're only for security procedures rather than actually starting and completing work. Swiping through turnstiles is to keep record of who is on the property.
We're still using the handwritten sign in sheets in the different sections when we begin work and sign out at the end of the day.

Pointless tbqf, role call is never done when there's ever a building evacuation. Unless they're very small units then for us they'd probably foul walkways and doorsPostmanBitesDog wrote: ↑30 Aug 2021, 17:01We have too, but I believe most delivery offices have them. Re: Sign in Sign out machine
We have roll calls when the alarm goes off. Not the most thorough roll calls, mind you. Everybody slowly wanders out to the yard, the managers call a few names, some shout out, "Here!" while others remain silent. And then the roll call is cut short because the office manager wants us all to get back to work.
So we slowly wander back into the building... as it burns to the ground.

At South Midlands Mail Centre where SISO has gone live. There are 16 stations across the operational floor for the various access points

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Exciting times at Bristol Mail Centre as Beverley Haward and Bini Mathews of Bristol Mail Centre Collections Hub are seen demonstrating the new ‘Scan In, Scan Out’ technology installed in Bristol Mail Centre this week. Rumours that Beverley has previously worked on a 1980’s quiz show are as yet unconfirmed

Re: Sign in Sign out machine
Bristol Mail Centre just started id card scanning last week. About 90% taking part in this interim period when you sign in with pen as well. The people who have been going home up to half hour early are f**king livid. The only problem is that this type of personality (also long term management favourites) have as a consequence started to complain about everybody and throw tantrums at too intense a rate for me to cope with. There is a life outside of Royal Mail as well. Say it takes the loonies 9 months to get used to clocking in/out, I will be mentally drained by then.

Re: Sign in Sign out machine
Come to Greenford Mail Centre then you won't have this problem as no one goes home early lucky to get out on finishing time "Can you just stay another few minutes?" (Time we will never ever give you back but we will be so grateful you have earned me an even bigger bonus)teesdale wrote: ↑04 Sep 2021, 01:11Bristol Mail Centre just started id card scanning last week.
