RMCtv : Are we going to have mass failed revisions to save Simon Thompsons' job?

Post by POSTMAN »

In October Simon Thompson has to go to the market, no he's not taking a cow there to sell, and no he's not going to end up with some magic beans and...ect ect, you know the story, unfortunately for Simon, there is no golden egg-laying Goose.

Several times on Workplace videos/Q&A's/politicians corner he has mentioned that the revisions HAVE to be done by October, he's not far from saying, or else I'm gonna come round ya fricken offices.

The latest one was after a manager questioned the management cull in 2020, for which Simons sidekick near enough said, yeah we fecked that up, but, and all Simon was interested in was the market mantra.

No doubt the love in with our Terry is in big trouble.

Now you know how it works, and you know what to expect, good luck, video below...

The situation's not ideal. We need to get them done. So....we'll get them done, but the revisions will not be ideal. Is that gonna be the outcome in November? Feel sorry for those units undergoing this... :pray

Simon not so simple : we all need to work very hard to hit our promises - I am in front of the market again in November - and the only acceptable answer to them is - "we are on plan, we are delivering our change, we will realise our savings" - anything less than this will be a share price that goes downwards - due to a loss of confidence - and we need to avoid this - so as hard as this challenge is - lets focus on it and get it done! - we have known about this task (number and timeline) since February - sorry to be so straightforward - thanks for raising the point (Which he has ignored)

Yep they have been completely mugged off by Royal Mail. They chose a smiley and probably very intelligent bloke to ram through their changes and it’s working a charm. Although they could have saved some money and installed a slice of ham to lead the company and it would still have run rings around Pullinger and Ward.
We are completely f****d.

I don’t see how mass failed revisions are going to save Simon his job, surely it’s going to have the opposite effect when the media get their teeth into the story just as we head into Xmas pressure.

we are doing ours now. they've got the DOM support in the office getting individuals in to go over the geo-route plan to see if everything is ok and above board on your delivery. then yesterday they got us all in the middle of the floor and said can we ''be honest'' when asked if our duties were over or below the given times of 4hours 45 mins as they need to get everything correct and are RELYING on our honesty. so the question was immediately asked ''well what about the ''PDA actuals'', why aren't you using them. you've been telling us for 2 or 3 years now that is how the new revisions were going to be worked out? their reply was....we cant use them, they are not to be used for duty measuring or performance measures :hmmmm .....so what is the point of them? he was very unclear as to why they cant use them. union? dont know.(the rep never said anything)....or maybe as someone pointed out, probably because the true PDA actuals have shown a lot of the duties are too big and over the allocated time and they dont want to be seen being proved wrong,..could be. anyways can you see anybody, ANYBODY at all going up to management and saying ''my duty is too small, you will need to give me some more work'' cos i just can't see that happening. call me cynical...but. :Very Happy

of course its going to fail. he reckons the only thing he can say to the ''market'' in November is ''we've done exactly as we agreed''....so in other words he's going to lie.

He's not gonna lie! The revisions will be carried out within the timescale. But very poorly.

Yeah they will get their ‘revisions’ by Oct so they csn tell their success story to the shareholders but in reality it will be a total cock up in delivery offices and more of the same s**t of deliveries failing and being swept under the carpet. Christmas is just around the corner lads...
