Vacant duties after a resign (cant apply 2 years)

We are having a resign, we are being told that if anyone leaves after the resign then the only people who can apply for their duties are the reserves because you have to stay on your new duty for 2 years, can anyone confirm this is correct. Thank you.

I don't believe it's that long. 12 months sounds about right. I would have thought that if a duty became available after your Resign it would be dealt with in the normal way i.e By Seniority. Can't see the logic of a more senior OPG having to remain on a duty that they might not really have wanted, whilst a less Senior Reserve got to sign for this newly vacant duty! Probably more BS from inept management.

Way forward agreement it's 12 months

If I remember correctly without checking, the way forward agreement states that:

If you apply for an advertised duty then you're expected to stay on it for 12 months.

But

If you're on a duty that was selected during a full repick then the 12 month rule doesn't apply.

only time you dont have to wait 12 months is if your going up hours, part time to full time

14.9 Employees taking up internally-advertised posts will be dedicated to them for a minimum of12 months. No applications for job moves will be considered during that period, unless they are:

• For specialist posts;
• As a result of serious personal or domestic reasons, following discussions with local CWU representatives.

Page28 : For specialists duties.

15.8 Employees who are regarded as suitable should be dedicated to these duties for a minimum of 12 months. If after 12 months the employee wishes to change jobs, they must give adequate notice to enable a suitable trained replacement to be found before release can be allowed. The replacement must be available to take up post no later than six months after notice has been given.
