Don’t get to play with 600’s, maybe I can be enlightened?
When landing at a Mail Centre and the 600’s are flitting about I often wonder whether the drivers have any concept of motion. I imagine they are so pressed for time that there is no time to wait for the vehicle to stop going forward before forcing the gear into reverse with the resultant crunching noise. Maybe they drive their cars like that ? I suppose as no-one seems to think it’s an issue we must praise the robustness of DAF gearboxes !

The Post 19 600s are now autos so crunching gears now but they are rubbish as they have no pick up on a standing start

Re: Rubber Gearbox ?
Always a joy at roundabouts, by the time the gearbox has woken up and realised you might want to get going the opportunity has long gone !
