Is there a max time you can work on a/l?

I am on 3 day contract.

i have worked 2 days whilst on a/l. my office now has over 100 posties in isolation, many many walks are not going out etc

I volunteered to work a third day to help out but was told no. I believe the driver may take the other side out, and alternate next day.

So i suppose firstly could i have come in for a third day, as im only contracted 3 days it wouldnt have been on an a/l day, and if i could, by the manager refusing to let me deliver the mail, is that wilfull delay?

If so i can always refer back to it if ever accused myself of w/d....

AFAIK if it's not your wally week, you're not allowed to ever work your A.L.

it was the week before my long weekend, last day today, if working, before long weekend, 1 in 4, but im on a/l this week, apparently loads of fellas on a/l this week have been in as not many wanted to take a/l because of restrictions but had to, so were happy to go in if invited on ot

i worked 2 days and wanted a 3rd, but manager said no, even tho over 100 on isolation, walks not going out etc

my delivery area will not get their post today when they could have, as i volunteered to go in, is that w/d, maybe not, seems managers are letting mail back up to await peeps on isolation when they return,

Your not allowed to work whilst on a/l but it goes on. If you work too much of it that you in theory go into your legally entitled annual leave (20 days) it actually becomes illegal. Is this what has happened in your case?

Legally Yes. - The maximum limit is 0 hours.

Royal Mail shouldn't allow it as you can't be on leave and working at the same time. The fact that they do could at some point bite Royal Mail in the arse.

I was under the impression that if you worked for example 3 days, then when you are on a/l, you only use up 3 days, or 23.5hrs of a/l, and so you were allowed to work the other 3 days on o/t as they are not a/l days.

I got the hump because i was willing to work ot on a day where we had over a 100 posties in isolation and walks failing everywhere, but manager said no, i had already been in for previous 2 days
It seems I was incorrect, ive only been there 9 years so what would i know lol

If you're part time , you are still on annual leave for the whole week.

working annual leave isn't allowed though it does happen, ours allows either the mon or sat so you do take the full 5 days booked
i personally think working leave sucks especially in school holiday time where some who needs leave are refused so can't take kids away then some selfish git gets a prime week off then works!

Working AL is pretty much a standard in our office.Since the pandemic we are embarrassingly short of staff so you are basically begged to work your week off.

because when you book a week off you get 6 days and only use 5 days worth of hours, 1 is your day off
this is on a 1 in 6 rota, not sure how it works on wally weeks

You're still on annual leave all week , your day off is still part of your annual leave.

Yes if you go in on your schedule day off, surely you are technically not on annual leave as we book annual leave by the hr now and only use those hours for the days you're sheduled to work?

How can you have a scheduled day off when your on annual leave . The reserve on your duty has the scheduled day off
