I suffer from dystonia and asthma. At the moment I work in the front counter
I will lose this position in our upcoming resign and have to pick a walk to go on
I was told by someone to get a letter from my doctor but I would like to know the Union stance on this

I have been told by our area rep that callers office duties are always exempt from an office re-pick. Check with your rep or higher.

I think 15.6 of the Way Forward agreement may be the basis if that agreement is still relevant. Hope that helps. Just google CWU way forward agreement.

Are you covered by the Equality Act for your Dystonia? If so then perhaps your callers office duty can be ringfenced?

Whole office re sign because of move to a new building and merging with another office
Dystonia affecting my ability to do job properly
My type of dystonia affect the muscles controlling movement
So going on a walk is out of the question
Have done 20 years

Good luck! Definitely keep your union rep involved, perhaps see if you can get a referral to occupational health?

The equality act pretty much overrides any agreements Royal Mail or the union has. There should be a letter from your GP or occupational health, in your file, stating that you are covered. You should have a meeting with your DOM before the resign to assess your working needs etc. So you should be given a suitable job in the callers office.
