Is loading the van part of the indoor work?

Hi, not posted on here for about a decade now I reckon! Management typically not keen on full office revision, and are insisting that we are not efficient enough indoors. So now we are being judged on our get out times. What I want to know is does that get out time, that is populated by the IWT, include loading the van and doing the van checks (both daily and weekly)?

I've never seen loading as a dedicated slot on a 318, but van checks are. They're generally what you do before meal relief.

Your 318 (depending how detailed it is) should say something like "0630-0815 Indoor prep. 0815-0830 Van check. 0830-0910 Meal relief. 0910-0920 Travel. 0920-1350 Delivery. 1350-1400 Travel. 1400-1405 Pouch off."

Some good team workers will utilise the process where the passenger will load the van while driver performs van checks, most don't bother. For single van drivers then you can often have a legitimate argument about workload etc, but they management will typically dig their heels in, and if they give in then you'll get a little more time in the morning.

it just sounds as thought they are trying to pinch mins to pay for the 1 hour off the working week , if yours in anything like our orrifice and your stood in a queue waiting for your van keys and specials some days you can be waiting 20 mins , ask him/her if thats been put into the indoor work , oh and 30 mins on a tuesday for a wtll session ? needs adding into your revision .

We've had a manager say that WTLL has been reduced to 15 mins under the recent agreement - has anybody else heard
or seen evidence of this? (Not that we get 30 or 15 mins anyway!).

We've not had any WTLL since the start of Covid

Yeah, that's what I thought too. Interesting some have as much as 30 mins to load, van check and leave. Couldn't tell you what it is in our office but I'll guarantee it ain't that!

No wtll sessions here either, just daily huddles. Today's lasted 5 mins. Now I wonder if that is accounted for on the IWT???

30 mins on a Tuesday still being put into structural revisions for WTLL.

I do recall Achim Dunnwald indicating the reduction of WTLL sessions to 15 minutes in one of the "change" statements around August last year.

Flippin' heck, just found it thanks to your pointer, that's 30 minutes of my life I'll not get back - it was in the document in this thread:

which was the Royal Mail Negotiating Outcomes Document, so whether it actually became part of the agreement voted through I'm not sure, as there was a proviso at the beginning of the document

It should be borne in mind therefore that the contents do not represent the detailed proposals for changes.

but the quote from the document is:

The first wave of revisions will incorporate Door to Door (2D) warm calling, Work Time Listening
and Learning (WTLL) with a reduced time of 15 minutes and a vehicle check process with a
reduced time allocation.

Haven't had a WTL for about 9 months now ,ignored by bosses and union,all the agreements,318's or health and safety mean nothing to Royal Mail ,and the union anything for a quiet life. I'd rather keep the hour on the working week and get treated with a bit of respect.
