How does your office work with the new starters on Mon to sun contracts?

My gf joins RM soon in a large office, her contract is Monday to Sunday which I know a lot of new contracts are like this but she's wondering whether she will have to work most Saturdays and Sundays straight away? I know some offices just have volunteers for LATS at the minute and I know in my office the new starters are only working Monday to Saturday right now.
Is it a case that most offices have enough volunteers to work Sundays so she may not have to work that many right now or will she probably have to work most sundays when she starts? I was told they are short staffed and mail is getting left so surely it would make sense to have her on postal delivery between Mon-Sat and maybe only have to work only 'some' sundays?

The issue is surely what's happening in your g/f's office not anywhere else, as the DO could already have sufficient volunteers. or have very few volunteers, what was suggested to your g/f during her interview? As far as Saturday's are concerned I assumed she'll be expected to work most of those.

They said she 'may' need to work some sundays but it wont be every sunday.

Its RM covering their arse, IF they need people on a Sunday and they dont have people wanting to do then the new starters WILL be doing as its in the contract.

Unless they say they'll be leaving if they make them work every Sunday, hopefully, like in our office at present, there's sufficient volunteers to cover most Sundays.
