It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

In the interests of abiding by the rules I won't say where their final destination should be.

Trust has to be earned I am afraid.

Whilst I have a good deal of trust in both Simon and Terry, I have absolutely no trust in either the managers whom work in my office nor for the Union Rep. None.
The problem with Royal Mail is the archaic system of management.
Get rid of the lot of them. Start at the bottom and work up. Otherwise, you are just wasting your time.

we all know where their answers lay
honestly it beggars belief what's gone on in my d/o this past few weeks
pure bully & harassment, office rep involved, totally swept under the carpet, not his fault, but absolutley zero help,

sorry mr pullinger, but you are letting us down massively, you are in charge of the area reps who are doing nothing to help the office reps
i honestly don't know if i'm dismayed more by my employer or union as now

I don't doubt the good intentions from the top of both RM and the CWU. But there are too many levels between the top and the bottom, and too many people in between who will just carry on as they always have done. Words are very easy to use, actions are a different matter.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

When my dad was alive he always used to say "Never trust anyone who says trust me" I've always gone with that.

Trust is something that usually has to be earned.

And what I can clearly see on the shop floor are: favouritism, nepotism and a few interpersonal conflicts of some posties who feel that they are treated as second class by their managers. And its not just sick absence where evidence for all of this unravels.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
