Ill Health Retirement
I’ve got an appointment with the Occupational Health Doctor next week and it looks like I will be offered IHR. Does the payoff go by how many years you have been working for the company?

Re: Ill Health Retirement
The IHR payment is fixed for all staff but can be different depending on service. It pays out 34 weeks pay to everyone which is untaxed. It also pays lieu of notice taxed. For most people this would be 12 weeks but might possibly be less fo people with short service. For a full timer with a longer service it works out about £21k.

Re: Ill Health Retirement
With the ESA you can get an additional payment which pushes it up to over £200 a fortnight if you are not able to work due to ill health. A bit of form filling to do but it's worth it. After 12 months if your are still not able to work the ESA payments continue. The sickness benefit part of ESA is assessed every 6 months.grandypants wrote: ↑01 May 2021, 21:59£21,500 I got best thing I ever did, claim ESA as well, contribution based you are automatically entiltled it for 12 months works out to about £140 a fortnight get a note from your doctors every 12 weeks if you cant work for RM a note is no problem, good luck.
