Mondays

Post by Seymour Buts »

No idea if it's the way the mail centre are doing things, but Mondays now are ludacrous in our office. Part timers coming in at 8 to fully prepped fittings due the full timers having nothing else to do. Said part timers then go straight upstairs knowing going out before 9:30 is a waste of time. People still finishing hours before their time having had a good hour or so break before going out. Tuesday's are busier for us now. Wednesday comes and we're battered. Annoying the work isn't spread more.

We are lapsing. You could literally do a third of another walk and finish still well within your time. I wonder if it's due to lockdown easing and people shopping traditionally again, but Wednesday and Thursday are still busy enough.

Your walks sound like a peace of piss, yes it has got quieter the last couple of weeks, and today finished early, but come tomorrow which is supposed to be 2pm finish will struggle.to finish on time, same goes for rest of week.

We do not have a choice with lapsing, that has to go and we have to leave loops on our own walks

DSA is no longer processed at weekends so what would have been processed over the weekends now gets processed on Mondays

Actually we will be finishing at 1500 after the currently ongoing full revision; this is going to be the longest shift of the week. It will need to be if we get, for example, 6 D2D that week, as that will mean prepping over 6000 items on Monday morning. Could be some extra bags required that day.
Apparently, Royal Mail want all D2D prepped on the Monday!!

I can't see my day off cover doing that, or the manager making them when I'm off on a Monday.

Why aren't you doing DSA on weekends any more?

I don't know if it was the Saturday or the Sunday when it used to be processed but if it was the Sunday then it's probably cheaper for RM to process it on Mondays (no Sunday rates)
