Delivering mail to shops.

Post by ViperF »

What are the rules delivery to shops during the pandemic
and trying to keep a 2m distance. It’s impossible to do so, so why should we deliver mail into busy shops?

The rules are if I remember correctly, keep 2 meters apart where possible. So that, unfortunately, gives RM a get out as it doesn't specifically stop you entering the shop. But you have your own get out, in that if you don't feel safe they you don't have to proceed, that hasn't changed during covid. The only thing is that you may have to justify your decision.

On entering a shop we will be wearing a mask, as will other customers so 1 metre distancing should be sufficient. Surely, as an organisation, we have been delivering to and collecting from a number of shops and post offices throughout the pandemic. It really shouldn't be a big deal.

I have a row of shops on my walk, it’s a pain finding your mask, then taking it on & off, on & off

Just a thought. You could put it on, then keep it on, on and on until you have delivered to each shop.
