Re: Probationary warning
First things first GET THE UNION INVOLVED. You're probably not a member being so new, so find the Unit Rep and join up, then brief him on the situation. No Rep? Find the number of the Area CWU Office and tell them.Plimred wrote: ↑10 Apr 2021, 20:35Hi,

Don't try and sort this yourself because the DOM will stitch you up with Bullshit!
I wouldn't get too stressed over, although being on Probation makes it slightly tricky, but what do they expect when you're given no training. I can't remember the last person I saw sacked. That included turning up for work pissed and telling the DOM to Eff Off! Good Luck.

Re: Probationary warning
Thanks,
Been in Union since day one, went home today after receiving letter felt sick dizzy stressed,I can't believe this can happen. I don't do anything wrong ,ashamed to think a company such as RM behave in such a way.Been given a walking round expected to finish in 2.5 hrs not paid ot,this is like some dark satanic mill.Disgusting way to treat honest hard working employees, seem to get someone in their sites then attack with fervour.

As stated, get the union involved.
You are correct that Royal Mail operates a Kafkaesque (Kafkaesque is used to describe situations that are disorientingly and illogically complex in a surreal or nightmarish way. Kafkaesque comes from the name of author Franz Kafka, who lived from 1883 to 1924.) management policy so its important to remember that its not 'you'....its them O.K?
Also, the management are simply working to an algorithmic automated process that seems to have been programmed by people from an alternative reality so in some respects its not even 'them' but is 'computer says'.
Its bullshit.
From traffic forecasts to reporting standards (a pointless and soul destroying song'n'dance) and union LTB's (LTB 078/17 - Royal Mail & CWU National Joint Statement Avoiding Delay (Commit to Deliver) and Reporting Standards: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=95634) its pure bullshit accross the entire operation.
I can see no reason why a simple phonecall to the unit locker via PDA and a report noted wouldn't suffice in recording over-running deliveries.
Its a Pantomime and we're the butt of the jokes.
Try not to stress it....there's supposed to be a jobs boom coming so better employers and opportunities might be available elsewhere soon.

Re: Probationary warning
Glad you're already in the Union. Hope they help out. There's obviously two sides to every story but I'd be disgusted if they just let RM sack you just like that.Plimred wrote: ↑10 Apr 2021, 23:42Thanks,

Look on the Bright Side ... as mentioned there's meant to be a jobs boom coming when everyone returns to work.
Also do you really want to work for a company that treated you like that? Now you've seen what utterly incompetent Management we've got to put up with you could find better. Good Luck, Don't get Stressed ... it's a Killer ... Let us know how it goes.

I think I've said this before but if I started with Royal Mail today I'd probably jack it in tomorrow so there's no shame in bailing out.
