Reserves

All reserves in our office given bank holiday Monday as their day off. Doesn’t seem fair. Not the first time it has happened either

If your day off is a Bank Holiday you can ask for another day off that same week

Very True, but a lot of New Starter Reserves & Part Timers don't realise this and just let it slip (they don't know any better). In the meantime the DOMs just saved a lot of hours on his budget. :no no Older, more experienced, staff can be just as naive. I spoke to a 15 year Postie about this the other day... He's got Monday off .... He just said, "I probably won't get it anyway"

Unfortunately it's that kind of apathetic attitude that lets BAD Managers get away with playing their silly little games! :cuppa

Although you can request another day off the same week it's the one part of the agreement that's down to resourcing needs so you really need the rep there to question the staffing levels otherwise you're likely to get brushed off.

To be honest if reserves are having their day off moved to the bank holiday your rep has already failed because that should really have been hit on the head at the previous week's resource meeting.

No they can't do that , the agreement is posted somewhere on this site , you really need to get the area rep involved

You can't have a local agreement that undermines a national agreement.

Every single PT employee here given bank holiday Friday and Easter Monday as their days off. I’d like to say I’m annoyed but it happened last year, i assume it happened the year before.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Make sure you all get 2 lieu days or OT payment
