Ring fenced duties

Post by DaintyDiva »

Our office is currently undergoing a full structured revision so can you tell me will all the people currently on "ring fenced duties" have to be re-assessed because I'm pretty sure they haven't been since acquiring them some 8 years ago

Supposedly if their duties are changing then yes they should be risk assessed by the CWU health and safety rep with OHS and any input from the colleagues doctor/specialist taken into account. :cuppa
It should NOT be done by Dr.Kildare Dom's or Can I lick your arse CWU rep's who's mates might fancy a cushy number and would rather see a colleague lose their job so their mates can have it easy. :whistle
I await the many yeah but there's a bloke at ours with nothing wrong with him , he has a trampoline in his back garden and once jumped over his house and he walks up Mount Everest comments.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Because managers and colleagues can't be trusted to act like adults.
When you adjust the duty to take into consideration a member's particular needs you then have to take it out of circulation and assign it to that member to stop the children fighting over it.

There is an odd situation in my place where a colleague had multiple heart attacks and their duty is now considered ring fenced. There were no alterations to the duty and it is by no means the easiest. I am certain if they pushed for it then they could get a proper duty tailored to their health condition. It really is odd, the person is happy to work overtime. It's as if nothing happened at all. Obviously I'm not privy to the OH & H&S report, but it just strikes me as odd, I dare not get involved though.
