Anyone else been bombarded with mail the last 2 weeks??
Every single f***ing day it's been mental. First local election letters, then that god damned census (i swear I've been to every house 3 times with it) packets n parcels don't seem too bad but the mail is just absolutely f***ing wrecking me at the minute. I'm exhausted from the minute I wake up. I can't remember it ever being this heavy in March and if it doesn't slow down then we're gonna have people getting injured/burning out pretty soon. Booked 90 minutes overtime yesterday on a f***ing Tuesday

You’ve got your council tax to come yet and probably water rates aswell. March has always been a busy month in the past due to the end / start of the financial year and the start of the summer season in the clothing catalogue industry.

Council Tax forms are coming through locally, the census letters seem to be by area. Sequencing was really heavy last night, some walks might have got 3 or maybe 4, perhaps even 5 boxes of sequenced mail and the amount of Tracked was insane.
A lot of delivery offices have got election materials to come (poll cards, postal vote forms, candidate D2Ds, etc) for the elections in May. I don't know why RM don't work with the relevant people to get te poll cards changed to a format that the sorting machines like better. As it stands, if you wer to manually feed them on a CSS for the 1st pass, it would chuck most of them out stacker 20 on the 2nd pass

Not had much of the census mail etc yet but general junk mail from all the usual suspects has been well up these last 2 weeks.

What boils my piss more than anything else is the Radio Times brigade. There is literally a button on the TV remote that tells you what's going to be on. Do they buy them for the articles? Incisive investigative journalism, in which Michael McIntyre extols the virtues of using a double-knot in his shoelaces?
I also deliver magazines and cruise ship brochures daily...to a man who died five years ago.
I honestly wouldn't mind if I was busy with actual mail, but delivering useless junk in the pouring rain, that i know will be thrown in the bin immediately, is absolutely demoralising and im starting to wonder whether it's worth destroying my physical and mental health for £12 an hour. I dont even blame Royal Mail, RM can only react to the needs of the British public. Shame that the needs of 90% of the British public are simply "must fill house up with shite before death".

Re: Anyone else been bombarded with mail the last 2 weeks??
same here is been heavy all round.
my only way of coping is to thin the job out.
like when you have a hair cut, the barber will cut the length and also thin out your hair.
as i do my delivery, any houses with unimportant mail can be put to the back and delivered the next day.
so i usually end up with a big bundle, but its easy to sort out. chuck a few white letters and any with second class stamps or redirection stickers in with my box collections.
any magazine type stuff back in the sorting frame maybe in the wrong holes so it doesnt look obvious.
lastly anything to the occupier or householder just stick back in thedelivery frame.
must save me half hour each day.

Our mail is normal / average. Parcels are through the roof.
I'm well into overtime on a daily basis, except perhaps Monday.
Tuesdays are brutal.

Have you not seen the latest. They said mail is actually now UP, making shed loads of money from it. Couldn't make it up, we all knew all along mail wasn't dropping as they said.

It's now called ''managing the mail'' and appears to be an entirely acceptable practice according to our DOMPathfinder wrote: ↑10 Mar 2021, 21:21
Does such thing still exist? Only have to walk through my office to see it doesn't lol

Same as ours bud, forget the important letters, death certs and birthday cards let's prioritise those fake eye lashes from China lolwacko74 wrote: ↑11 Mar 2021, 05:30It's now called ''managing the mail'' and appears to be an entirely acceptable practice according to our DOMPathfinder wrote: ↑10 Mar 2021, 21:21
