Isolating

Post by neil culver »

My partner is having two operations, two weeks apart. The hospital has said the whole family have to isolate two weeks before each op, therefore I would be off work for four weeks. I have been told by the dom (via HR) that I will not get paid as it is not me having the operations, I could have used holiday but as it's the end of the year I don't have any left to take!
Is this information correct?

No. Just provide proof you have been told to isolate and speak to your rep.

I think your options will be take unpaid leave or take holiday of next years entitlement ( if permission is granted).

Contact coronavirus.support@royalmail.com as soon as you can, they usually reply within the hour during work hrs.
Let us know what they said please.
Good luck.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
