Partners different start time and won't take break

So I moved walks last week and as I start at 715 I have break of 40 minutes before I go out. Problem is partner on other walk starts at 830 he comes in about 10 minutes before that just does redirection bags up and wants to go, I’m then having break at 930-10 meaning he has to wait, he drives his car to each loops and complain to Dom about me holding him up! Dom now says I should have break at the end so he can start ASAP. Is this right? We have no rep and only few take break before going out and Dom says I’m being awkward, I think he doesn’t like me as I’ve cut off several times before, but surely we should have break before going out not at end as he won’t pay overtime until your official finish time! He now says that if I don’t take my break at the end he will either send me toTo a different delivery office or put me on floating all I’ve said we had no resign yet and I’m more senior to several people so surely you can’t do that he said he can do what he wants and he want to be from tomorrow to start taking a break at the end!We also now have to do more van checks with the PDA from tomorrow which will take a bit longer shall I just do my own pace and finish when I’m finished leave my partner as I don’t want to change again. Is he right in what he says?

You are not allowed to take your break at the end, it is your partner and DOM who are being awkward.
If you have no rep get in touch with your branch and consider putting in a grievance

Ok. I don’t wish to have a major falling out with him but why has he put us together anyway as we’re on different start times, I will probably contact area rep if can get hold of him! It just seems ridiculous to have break at end when you need a break during work time, also surely he can’t move me to another office?

Try and compromise? Both take your break in the middle of your walks. Your partner is not allowed to take their break at the beginning just as much as you're not allowed to take it at the end, officially speaking. Another option is to take 20 minutes whilst your partner ties up and take 20 minutes at the end and let your partner do whatever they want, that's technically allowed.

Tell him if he wants you take break at end, then you want it in writing.
Managers usually back down when it is no longer your word against theirs!

Under employment law you "have to" to take at least 20 min break if working more than 4 hours.
Get hold of area rep and get him involved, your DOM is trying for easy life.
If partner is working more than 4 hrs and not taking break he also is in the wrong, that is why you can only claim 20mins at the end
because you are supposed to have taken at least 20 mins on duty.

Statutory meal breaks...At least 20 mins if you work 6 hours... some employers may give more but that is the minimum and should taken within the six hours

Ok so rep emailed Dom today reminding him that we have a paid break and I can take 20 minutes before delivery and 20 when out in van so as he’s in car I will take 20 maybe minutes before he starts last loop and then he can go home in his car! It’s not ideal but when we start shared vans again not sure how it works, it’s all just messy with different hours, part time and full time with different lengths of breaks it just doesn’t make sense
