What's the verdict on this?
Is is all it seems? Who was filming? What's the full story, anyone have the inside on this?

As repugnant as this appears at first sight to be it shouldn't be a conduct case.
Although they may try to push for "bringing the business into disrepute" it's not really the place of the employer to police our moral compass, that's a dangerous route to go down.

Even if he was worried about the covid risk, injuring himself or her more then she was he could have at least called for help, knocked a neighbours door so at least someone was with her. Very heartless.
I picked an elderly lady up last week after checking she was ok before moving her. She was wearing a mask but I didn't for a second think about any risk to myself or needing to get the job done. To me it was a natural reaction.

I agree with this. I've been in multiple situations where people high on drugs, are hassling me to help them with whatever crisis is going on in their heads. I walk away for my own safety, and well, because I can't help those people.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑12 Feb 2021, 16:59As repugnant as this appears at first sight to be it shouldn't be a conduct case.

But if I were to be caught just walking away by a Ring doorbell, the optics might not be that great.
So will it be Royal Mail policy that I have to assist any junkie that needs my help?

Of course it doesn’t look good and we will be slated forever about it,if indeed it is what it is,there’s a culture of blame and claim, makes good newspaper reading when it goes well, when it goes wrong then look out!!

It was a neighbours Ring doorbell that filmed this.ArthurPewty wrote: ↑12 Feb 2021, 15:03What's the verdict on this?

Re: Scottish postman refuses to help woman lying in snow!?
From what I can hear the woman says ''Ive not been well.....got my flu jag''
The postman says ''can ye help yourself up? Im knackered trudging through this snow, nearly finished etc'
So if ye want to give him the benefit of the doubt - either he didnt want to go near her for health reasons after her saying shes not been well and thought she would be able to get up herself no problem or he was indeed knackered but still didnt think she would be there any longer than him leaving the garden and it wasnt that she NEEDED him to get up but had just asked for a hand but he thought she'd still get up without him
If he knew that she'd be stuck without him he'd have to be really callous to not have got help
Personally I dont think he thought she couldnt get herself up - i think he thought she was just asking for a hand to make it a bit easier not knowing she wouldnt be able to get up at all once he'd left

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
