Snow Procedure Document

Post by Lou84 »

Can anyone point me in the direction of the Snow Procedure please ?

Was sent home today due to the snow but there seems to be some discrepancy as to whether you make the time up or not.

I know going to your nearest office is also an option.

Many thanks

If you cant get in you might be asked to make your hours up or try nearest office. If you get to your office and they send you home then they bear the cost.

The snow looks to be on for a few more days in many parts of the UK.

If you were sent home then there is no claw back.

Why did no one ask for confirmation at the time?

If they send you home a couple of things could happen.

1: You agree to go home early and make the time up.
2: You agree to go home early and lose no monies/hrs.
Both with negotiations with management with rep present.
3: You can refuse to go home, stay in the office, and get paid as normal.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We did at the time but the relief manager just said it will all be cleared up tomorrow when the normal manager returns !
Health & Safety rep said no it doesn't need to be made up, our Union Rep was non committal, he didn't make it in last time but was allowed to take it as A/L.

Seems to be pot luck and just the manager trying it on if you're expected to owe them time

Could be down to manage to use some common seance,,that could prove tricky, rest assured whatever they do in your favour they won’t forget it and want it back with interest and some,”you remember when you lot went home early in the bad weather, blah blah
