Testing

Post by terry2972 »

I have just read that the government is going to provide the flow test for employers of more than 50 people apparently it gives the result in 30 minutes
Do you think RM will offer us it?

If it means the chance that more will go off sick, then with RM the answer will always be no.

Our DOM doesn’t even like the fact people have the test and trace app on their phone so there’s no way he would want this introduced.

Royal Mail signed up for the rapid tests a couple of weeks ago.

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/more ... -workforce
Rapid testing in the workplace, using lateral flow tests, aims to help protect those at highest risk and provide vital information to help inform further rollout of the rapid testing technology in future. Organisations signed up to workplace testing already include: Royal Mail, Tate & Lyle Sugars, Primula, Moy Park, Octopus Energy, Apetito, and DVLA.

Employers with more then 250 staff were already eligible to sign up ages ago so RM could have been doing it for weeks by now

Dr Shaun Davis, Global Director Compliance and Sustainability at Royal Mail, said:

Throughout the pandemic, the health and safety of our customers and our people has been our number one priority. We were pleased to take part in the government’s pilot of rapid COVID-19 testing for workforces. Lateral flow device testing is poised to add another important tool in our drive to keep our people safe, as well as inform a mass testing strategy for the UK. Our employees and union in Sheffield have been incredibly supportive of the pilot. We could not be prouder to play our part in the government’s fight against COVID-19.

Yes we've been having the lateral flow test in Sheffield from before Christmas. We now get tested twice a week.

Throat first, then nose. Don't know who supplies it.

Thing is if it is non invasive and we got paid if positive and no stage warnings but this is not the whole case and RM would rather have asymptomatic staff in than on the sick or self isolating!
