What is the difference between ill health retirement and medical retirement (if any)?
Any differences in the procedures or sums paid etc?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Re: Ihr/medical
They're both the same. It'll depend on the severity of your health issues what you get offered. IHR lump sum is 34 weeks money untaxed and your 12 weeks lieu of notice taxed. It works out at about 21-22K for a full timer.

Re: Ihr/medical
One is not being able fit to do the job or any job in royal mail the other is not being fit to do any work job for anyone including yourself. But the DWP will say otherwise!
