manager phoning to ask to bring loops back???

i think its a crazy 1 today....got a phone call from my manager asking me to bring back what ever loops i had left so i could take out parcels for other walks.

later found out he had rung a few of us who i suppose you can call soft touches.

i asked whats to happen to my loops....his reply was i can do them tomorrow.....WTF

on return to the office he was laughing and joking with a few postmen....no of whom were asked to do parcels....

The simple answer is not to answer your mob when the manager rings.

If the managers want to manage badly I say let em and sooner or later their failures will show up to those higher up. I hear a lot of managers will be getting culled soon anyway.

Best thing to do as soon as he said do your loops tomorrow is copy that old comedian (can’t remember the one - he used to pretend his mic wasn’t working properly) and say you’re struggling to hear him. Then crack on with your round.

Later on when he asks why you didn’t come back for the parcels say you thought he’d said it was now sorted.

And if he texts you saying to come back just say your phone ran out of battery.

We really shouldn’t have to but sometimes you just have to play the game.
