mangers care...

Post by wazer »

Had to have test for covid as told by my gp on Tue, test results came back today 12,10 negative. Phoned office to tell them all OK that went fine. 20 mins later a manager phoned me asking if I could come in till end of my shift. (2:40). I said no, he asked why so I said I've been locked in since test and I need to get stuff down.Since the start of covid, I've been in eveyday, worked all my hols and have had no time off and helped out loads. Not once did they get in touch when I was off or ask how I was feeling. The manager has been kicked out of our office 3 times and kicked out of 3 other offices. It's twats like him who make staff go off with stress.

You can’t make this stuff up can you?you have to wonder the thought process that goes on in his head,we are all stressed and under pressure,is it what he thinks is right in getting you back in,or is he guided from his boss from above ?is no 1 on agenda on these fictitious conference calls to continue to be as nasty and bloody minded as ever and see who will crack and simply say they’ve had enough and walk.is it some sort of test confrontation at every level seems rife, and makes for an unhappy atmosphere and low morale and poor work as we know.and still it continues,

Since at no point can you be made to take a Covid19 test it stands to reason that at no point can you be made to cut short your isolation period in any way.

I would advise anyone to complete the isolation period no matter what the test results say, it's a far safer route. False negatives are far more common than false positives.

So the lesson here, is always wait till the end of your shift before notifying managers of your negative test.

Just in case anybody hasn't realised it yet, there is no "quid pro quo" with Royal Mail. You don't get any special treatment for "helping out" or working during your holidays.

Only do that on your terms if you actually want to do it and need the money etc. Otherwise work your hours and go home.

The idea that we're "helping out" is a load of shite, you're just stopping the place from falling apart, because management don't want to resource it properly, and are happy to run the place on OT in the expectation that someday we'll have no work. What would actually help out, is if they actually filled some of the vacancies that have been building up over the last year, they could bump up some of the folk on shitty PT contracts, or convert the poor bastards stuck on zero hour agency contracts.

Some of these managers are narcissists and sociopaths, not all but a decent chunk of them I’ve came across definitely are. I just can’t put myself in his shoes and imagine myself trying to pressure a member of staff to come back in this situation. His parents probably never hugged him as a child so he’s decided to bully some posties in his later life. What a w****r.

Why shouldn’t he go in. His results where negative so there was nothing wrong with him.

Lesson to be learnt, never trust the Txxt and never go out of you way.

I’ve witness some appalling behaviour by managers who have clearly crossed the line, and it seems like RM are introducing this style of management.
Bullying, intimidating ,twisting conversations and some do sheer lie to their advantage!

Don’ t be surprise if they have contacted payroll to have you pay docked 2 hrs.

Sorry, to be a Pestamist.

Lesson to learn never trust your dom or line manger never confide in them as they will use it to there advantage whenever you choose do your hours and go home and try and switch off for the next day.

They are all the same and it will never change its the way RM want them to manage with authority and intimidation bullying and harassment and don't forget the most important attribute being a Incompassionate arsehole they don't care one bit about you or your personal life or family so please treat them the same.

in time you will understand as it has taken me years to see to true picture and tbh its a sorry way to make a point but rm have made me this way.

I hope this helps bite your lip and save your anger for the gym or the punchbag in the garage.

What's the point in the OP going in for 2 hours? if that! Its a nonsensical request.

A half decent manager would just reply "great news, see you tomorrow"

not really, im not one for defending RM but if he has some time to get in its reasonable to be asked. Now, there could be numerous problems logisitcally why he cant get to work in the next few hours, maybe he only just left the clinic and would have to go home shower, change and drive in and wouldnt even make it to the office in time. The point is if theres a legitimate reason why you couldnt finish out your shift thats one thing, just saying "its kinda pointless for 2 hours" isnt a good argument on its own.
