My long weekend next week, I just asked if I can b paid instead of a day in luie. Got told there still trying to find out if they can pay. Union guy is looking I to it.

Yes you can get a payment if you wish.
Local managers try to prevent this and prefer a day in lieu option.

Our local managers often give you the extra pay without asking - but I believe this is them trying to save
money if you are already close to working 38hrs, if they pay you the OT in lieu and this takes you over the 38hrs
doesn't this save RM paying pension contributions and delivery supplement on everything over the 38hrs if you
are in the RMDCP? Not sure about the other pensions that are in force.

If you take the day off in lieu you get the delivery supplement and pension contributions as it's holiday pay.
